Nordea supports society in which it does business by providing financial support in the form of scholarships, sponsorships and donations. Every year a strategic sponsorship plan is developed and thus realized in cooperation with organizations in the educational, cultural, and sports industries.

Every year we donate money to organizations that do proactive and meaningful work in their regions and make improvements for the society, boosting education and progressing every day life.

Education

Nordea takes an active role in supporting the education level in Latvia. We support most progressive students of Latvian universities and take part in human resource and student seminars. In addition, Nordea initiates and welcomes students to special Open Days at the bank that we organize.

Sport

Sport is one of the main sponsorship priorities for Nordea Group. We believe that is the key and basic element of a healthy and progressive lifestyle. Nordea in Latvia has successfully implemented this strategy by supporting the largest marathon in the Baltic countries - Nordea Riga marathon, as well as king of all sports – football. Every year we make generous investments and plan activities in the popularization of these both sports in Latvia.

Nordea reviews submitted sponsorship applications on an ongoing basis. However, we prefer to support projects that are innovative, have valuable input for the society, clear and long-term vision, anticipated development, tangible and measurable result.


Nevertheless, we do not support individuals, aggressive sports, religious and politic organizations and events and projects that are not in coherence with the bank’s corporate identity, mission and vision. Last-minute requests are not accepted.
