Resource centre for women "Marta"
|
Nordea is a bank of high social corporate responsibility principles, and it therefore engages in lifting the overall social level. Nordea has been supporting and donating funds to Marta resource centre for women since 2009.
Marta represents democratic values and stands up for them, seeking to promote gender equality in Latvia, and the mission of this centre is to underpin collaboration and a mutual support system among women. The centre offers professional support, information and specialist consulting to women of low income or unemployed, victims of human trafficking, and women willing to start up a business.
By now, Nordea has fuelled some Marta’s projects to successful implementation - projects to prevent employment and human rights violation, to promote political involvement of women, to counter human trafficking and sexploitation.
