Nordea Bank and the Latvian Football federation prolong cooperation agreement

Nordea bank and the Latvian Football federation (LFF) have prolonged the sponsorship cooperation agreement for another two years. Nordea became a general sponsor of the LFF in 2004 and since then its total investment within this project has increased to more than one million lats.

Gustavs Eglītis, Member of the board, Nordea bank: „The sponsorship agreement that we concluded today is acknowledgment of the previous successful cooperation between the Bank and the Latvian Football federation for already six years. We can justifiably call it „worth a million” project – one of the largest sponsorship projects of Latvian sports history – the total investment of the Bank constituting already more than a million lats. We do hope that the support of Nordea will help Latvian football-players reach ambitious goals during the qualifications of the UEFA European Football Championship in 2012.”

„We concluded a cooperation agreement with Nordea bank right before we entered the final tournament of the European Football Championship in 2004. It was a golden moment for Latvian football and it is important that we start this upcoming qualification cycle similarly,” during the press conference stressed Jānis Mežeckis, General Secretary, LFF.

Nordea Latvia became a general sponsor of the LFF in 2004. By concluding the cooperation agreement, one of the largest sports’ sponsorship projects within Latvian sponsorship industry was launched. At the time being Nordea cooperates within the framework of a new contract, providing a large investment and helping the LFF implement its priorities – to support football for youth, develop the football infrastructure, popularize the National team and Latvian Championship.
