Professionals having lost their jobs are taking every advantage: Nordea „School of empowerment” has selected new grantees

The grant of Nordea „School of empowerment” competition was awarded to Gita Miruškina, a professional lawyer and a member of the association „Patvērums „Drošā māja”, who will conduct regional trainings and seminars on employment rights and secure work conditions abroad within the framework of „School of empowerment”. Nordea grant was also awarded to Dainis Locāns, Head of Latvian Association of Business Consultants and the organizer of webinars (e-workshops), who will help provide the training in an online or e-format.

„This has been the second time we have asked the out-of-work professionals to apply for the „School of empowerment” programme in order to share their knowledge with other unemployed professionals, and receive grants in return. The winners of the first grant competition have successfully proved themselves during the „School of empowerment” training. Andris Alksnis has already found a job position, while Vita Brakovska continues working within the non-governmental sector, by popularizing skills of innovative cognition. Vita has gained one of the highest assessments among the training participants, therefore she will continue conducting classes until Jāņi”, says Viktorija Veisa, Head of the HR department of Nordea bank.

Since September of last year when the „School of empowerment” started its activities, more than 25 seminars on various subjects have taken place, and they have been attended by more than 600 participants,
besides half of them have attended more than one seminar. The average assessment of the participants for the classes has been 8,5 out of ten. The classes providing advice on innovations and planning of personal budget have been assessed with the highest score. At the moment the training course of the „School of empowerment” offers seminars on 8 different subjects, and by attending these seminars, the unemployed professionals will receive knowledge worth more than 500 lats.
