Nordea warns about possible "phishing" emails

Some of Nordea customers have received fraudulent e-mails in which they have been asked to use bank’s Netbank. The Bank is currently examining these cases and invites its customers to ignore such letters as well as to inform Nordea about such cases.

It is important for Nordea that every customer feels that their finances are secure when making payments both in person or remotely. In order to protect our customers, we ask to take into account the following:

  • Do not answer calls, text messages or e-mails “sent from Nordea” that request your password and other identification data. Nordea never calls, sends e-mails, or makes windows in the Net bank that request the entry of personal information. Examples of personal information: payment card number, card expiry date, PIN code, Netbank user code, password.
  • Specify your personal data or account information solely on websites whose security (SSL or HTTPS connection) you trust and which you have visited at your own initiative.
  • Do not store personal information without proper encoding on external storage devices, laptops, mobile phones or other devices, since they are easy to lose and can be stolen, putting your data in the hands of a third party.
  • Under no circumstances should you provide the following data by e-mail or telephone:
       ‒ Netbank password;
       ‒ complete code card or calculator numbers;
       ‒ card number;
       ‒ card expiry date;
       ‒ PIN code;
       ‒ as well as the CVV2 code or a three-digit code located on the back of the card                        in the white field, next to the signature.

If you have provided this information or you suspect that the security of your personal information (payment card data, Netbank code card or password) has been compromised - contact Nordea immediately and block access to your accounts.
